It can be better

I foresee this app becoming the best there is in the Industry. However, improvements are needed to get there.

Firstly, as a free user we are limited to 3 practices per week. This is an upgrade from 5 per month. If I one exercise is done in the “paths” section that counts as one practice. The same goes for a drill completed. Within a day I could reach the threshold of 3 practices per week. This defeats the purpose of building a consistent habit as a free user. My suggestion is to allow us 4 days of practice per week as a free user. Alternatively, you could use the energy system (which is already there) as a way to allow users to practice everyday. However, the amount of exercises/drills is limited. For example, the energy system could allow free users to do one exercise in the “Paths/Education” section and three exercises in the “Drills” section. Whereas, premium users have no limit. This helps users build a consistent habit while offering enough value to convert them to paid users.

That leads to my last point. I am a free user who sees the value of this app. This is one of the most important skills one can learn in their lives. However, the one obstacle stopping me from upgrading to a paid user is the monthly fee. I won’t suggest a fee since I wouldn’t like to impose on your pricing model. Please do consider my proposal.

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback - really appreciate it.

Quick clarification that might change things for you: exercises in the Paths section are actually completely unlimited and don't count toward your 3 weekly practices. Only drills and echo sessions count toward the limit.

The reason for that distinction is that drills and echo sessions use AI to generate scenarios, analyze your speech, and give you personalized feedback in real-time. Each session costs me real money to operate. Path exercises don't have that same cost, so I'm happy to keep those free and unlimited.

So you should be able to work through the Paths content every day to build that consistent habit, and then use your 3 weekly drill/echo sessions for focused practice. That said, I hear you on wanting more, and I'm always looking at ways to find the right balance.

Thanks for the kind words and for sticking with Wellspoken!

The pricing model also prohibits free users from using the Echo Coach which defeats the purpose of helping everyone build this skill. We are asking for a more affordable membership fee. $10 for the premium membership will definitely increase memberships.

We hear you on Echo Coach. It's currently premium-only because each conversation runs on live AI, so every minute of coaching has a direct cost on our end. That said, we're planning to open it up to free users in the future with a duration limit, so everyone can experience it. Stay tuned for that.

As for pricing, appreciate the candor. We're a small team and the AI costs are real, but we're always evaluating how to make Wellspoken as accessible as possible. Your feedback helps with those decisions.
